Togo Launches 2025-2026 Soybean Marketing Campaign with Focus on Stability and Competitiveness

Lomé, Togo – October 24, 2025 – The Togolese government, in partnership with the Interprofessional Council of the Togo Soybean Sector (CIFS-Togo), officially launched the 2025-2026 soybean marketing campaign on October 23, 2025.

The launch ceremony was marked by the signing of a tripartite agreement between the National Federation of Soybean Producer Cooperatives (FNCPS), the Togolese Association of Soybean Processors (ATTS), and the National Association of Soybean Traders and Exporters. This accord establishes a fixed price of 220 FCFA per kilogram for the upcoming season, a reduction from the previous campaign's price of 250 FCFA. The parties also agreed on a total marketing volume of 200,000 tonnes.

Industry authorities attribute the price adjustment to the current downward trend in the international soybean market.

“Our ambition is to stabilize the market through transparent and equitable mechanisms to sustainably guarantee fair revenues for producers and strengthen the competitiveness of the sector,” said Koriko Mounirou, President of CIFS-Togo.

A representative from the Ministry of Commerce, under the Ministry of Economy, acknowledged the sector's progress while highlighting persistent challenges, including international competition and the need for improved productivity. This year’s campaign is framed by the theme: “What strategy for productivity and sustainability in a context of competitive markets?”

This initiative is part of a broader, two-year strategic plan to develop Togo's soybean industry. As the world's leading exporter of organic soybeans to the European Union, Togo aims to consolidate its position in the international market, increase local producer incomes, and promote a sustainable and competitive agricultural value chain.
